My Life on the Ice
I’ve been on the ice since I was three, and playing since I was five. For most of my life the rink has been where I go to feel like myself — first as a kid who was often one of only a few girls in the program, then as a player at Wayzata and Blake and later at Drake, and now as a coach in Des Moines.
The photos here span a lot of those years. Some are from games, some from early-morning practices, some from tournaments where I stepped on as a player-coach. I’m sharing them because hockey gave me almost everything I value — discipline, confidence, friendships that lasted — and because I want a young girl who finds this page to see a woman behind the bench and think, I could do that too.
